A grad campaign for Southampton uni
Encouraging students to further their studies.
The University of Southampton has a select group of agencies to work on their collateral across the board, implementing their brand guidelines and creating a range of deliverables. Over the last year they have provided us with several large projects, from events to digital communications.
Working closely with brand guidelines, we have produced many designs for the university. Working within the guidelines can often be challenging, and we've had to think of innovative ways to structure campaigns and communications.
A great example of this was last years postgraduate campaign brief: To create a campaign to ignite interest in Postgraduate study, encouraging prospective students to sign up and attend a university open day.
We used the idea of sharp detail and focus to highlight the meaning of postgraduate study - taking your degree and narrowing it down/focusing in on an area of study in more detail. The imagery used in combination with the headline on each deliverable allowed us to convey our message whilst still keeping within the brand guidlines.
Having presented our concept for the campaign, we were then required to deliver the event collateral ensuring continuity across the entire suite of deliverables.

On completion of this project, a colleague and I visited the open day at the University to gather insight and take a set of photos of the work. The reception was great. We gathered some hugely valuable feedback from students, parents and staff about the effectiveness of the campaign communications. We were selected again this year for the campaign, and will certainly be keeping this feedback in mind to create a stronger and more effective visual.
